Dark Arts of Necromancy
Written by,

Greetings Aisling,
I am Ramanayan, and I have always had an interest in the Dark
Arts of Necromancy. While looking through the library at Loures
I found nothing on the subject in any field (History, Lore, ect).
So I have put together this scroll for information regarding
necromancy. It includes Necromancy History, How to become one,
Monsters, Items, and sketches ((screenshots)). I hope you find
this useful.

Part 1: History
Necromancy is the art of summoning the undead do to ones bidding.
It may be help in hunting, entertainment, or other sinister purposes.
A Wizard living in Tagor many doechs ago, during the Danaan dating
times first discovered necromancy. This wizard was very fearful
of dying and spent his life trying to cheat death. After many
years of work he found a way. He became a lich. The transformation
twisted his mind. He believed that the living were always dying
but the undead lived forever. So he began killing the people
of Tagor and turning them into undead monsters. After turning
people into undead he sent them out to kill more people. It seemed
no one could stop him. Then one day a strange bearded man entered
Tagor from the Northern Woodlands. Carrying no weapons at all
he entered the lich's/wizards home, the House Macabre. Within
a double moon all the undead had stopped entering Tagor. The
bearded man, although sick, had been able to contain the Lich/Wizard's
powers to his home, the House Macabre. Sometimes some monsters
would escape but they were very weak and caused no trouble. It
seemed that Necromancy had been stopped. Also Tagor and the House
Macabre become isolated from the rest of the world.
Many years later in Doech 12, Fall directed by King Bruce of
Loures urged aislings with 80 or more insights to destroy the
evil that lurked in the House Macabre, that had just been opened
to the rest of the world. It was also at that time that a strange
book was re-discovered possibly written by the Wizard/Lich after
discovering the dark powers. Part of it reads:
In the depth something dark had been brewing for centuries.
All
the layers of history are not dead. They are buried but are not
dead.
The clerics who allied in the Shadow's War live. Their crusade,
their burden, borne still.
The worshippers of infernal beings.
Twisted and malignant creatures, created out of the hate of the
bowels of the earth.
All nature twisted and horrible. That which
dies does not die, but remains, decays, and returns in horror.
[further in the book]
One of the Six. One of the Six. The wisest and most powerful,
no? He has the empire of below.
Quoted from the centuries old,
banned book, "The House
Macabre" by an unknown person.
According to the book the
House Macabre contained much evil and darkness, and one of the
six. One of Six most likely means one of 6th elements, Sal, Srad,
Athar, Creag, Deo, or Darkness. Odds are it was probably
darkness. Most likely the Lich/Wizard chose this place for his
home because of the evil that lurked there and perhaps it gave
him even more power.
After the House Macarbre was open soon even more places were
discovered. The Chthonic Remains were discovered hidden beneath
the wizard/lich's study. It contained some 30 levels (until levels
31-56 were discovered in Doech 16) and horrors beyond mention.
The place became the primary hunting grounds for aisling's 50-Master
insights and still is to this day.
5 Doechs later in Doech 17 Summer Necromancy, long thought extinct,
became known to the world as the mundane necromancer created
a home behind the walls of the Sgath Pit. For you younger readers
the Sgath Pit is where aislings convicted of murder and such
are fed to and killed by a creature known as the Shadow Hunger.
A perfect place for a Necromancer to set up near. As aislings
attempted to enter his home only wizard were able to. The Mundane
Necromancer introduced himself as Gigean. He said he would teach
Necromancy to wizards…
As Necromancy was being taught and learned in Doech 19, Summer
the Druids appeared in a section of the Eastern Woodlands. They
accused the Necromancers of being evil and dark. They said to
many were losing their health to the mastery of the dead (explained
later) and the balance was tipping away from the light. The Druids
have done some things science, such as open the Chaos Realms,
and helped out explaining the current Light and Dark war. However
they say Necromancy is evil and never really do anything about
it. For the most recent things of Necromancy read the future
section.
Part 2: How to become a Necromancer
So you wish to walk the dark path of Necromancy? It is not a
easy path but the rewards can be great - Gigean, Mundane Necromancer
Becoming a Necromancer has several requirements. To start go
visit Gigean. To get to his home go to the sgath pit and walk
along the east most wall. You should appear in his home now.
He will explain the path and such. The minimum requirements for
becoming a Necromancer are: You must be insight 25 or higher
and have 25 intelligence and 15 wisdom. Also you must not worship
any gods except Fiosachd, Ceannladir, or Sgrios. Summoning the
undead is not exactly popular with most gods. If you meet these
requirements you must go to the House Macarbre and kill a zombie
and bring Gigean its flesh. You must kill a zombie yourself you
can have assistance but you must give the final blow. You also
must present its flesh, however the flesh need not be fresh.
After that speak to him about learning Spion Torrah. After speaking
a bit Gigean will teach you the spell. You need no items, money,
ect. Also your legend will get a new mark, "Walks the path
of Necromancy since (date)". Now you are a Necromancer.
Read on to learn to use your powers.
Part 3: Summoning
Those who teach the dark arts of Necromancy hoped to go unnoticed.
But too many creatures have been summoned and aislings are
losing their health to the mastery of the dead - Druid
After becoming a Necromancer and learning the spell Spion Torrah
you are a full-fledged Necromancer! Now for those who don't know
fae yet Spion means, Summon. Torrah means Undead. So Spion Torrah
means Summon Undead. To use Spion Torrah you must have one of
the five necromancer items. They are the Ghast Skull, Gargoyle
Skull, Gog's Maw, Gargoyle Fiend Skull, and Gremlin's Ear. Each
item has a insight to use they are as follows-
Ghast Skull- 25
Gargoyle Skull- 50
Gog's Maw- 75
Gargoyle Fiend Skull- 80
Gremlin's Ear- 99
After getting an item your insight can use go to an area where
spells can be case. Drop the item under you. Cast Spion Torrah.
The item is destroyed and a monster appears! You can use this
monster like any other summons.
Part 4: Item's and Monsters
Yes it was so easy to find a maw it only took a 99 warrior and
me several hours to find one. Now where just going to throw
it away? -Heiler to Ramanayan after the finding of a gog's
maw

Ok lets admit it these items are not found lying around. If
you want to get them they are not exactly easy to get. The monsters
that drop these items do so rarely, some more then others. The
most common are the Ghast Skulls and the Gargoyle Skull. The
Gog's Maw and Gremlin Ears are hard to find. The Gargoyle Fiend
skull is the hardest to find. Also buying one on the market will
cost you a hideous amount of money. Ghast Skulls normally go
for 250k - 500k coins, Gargoyle Skulls 300k - 500k, Gog's Maws
200k - 1000k, Gargoyle Fiend Skull 5 million - 20 million and
Gremlin's Ears up 4 million. Do not let money scare you! If you
find one of these items do not sell it! The results from these
items are far worth more then money. But if you cannot find them
nor afford them you can make fakes. Visit the Soumi Dark Wizard
and say Necromancy or Necromancer. To make skulls you will need
a variety of items including, branches, kobold skulls, spider's
legs, and zombies flesh. I know what you're thinking, I'll just
use fakes it's easier. Well fakes are not exactly stable. Each
fake has a 50% fail rate in witch the item will be destroyed.
Also there is a 2% change you will lose a stat when using a fake.
You might also have an idea what to do with your summons. Some
younger Necromancers, insights 25-40, will sometimes have their
summons help them hunt. Even for elder Necromancers sometimes
when a horde of monsters is chasing you or your group summoning
a monster to distract those chasing you can help. Necromancy
summoning can be fun also (I doubt Gigean would approve). It
might be entertaining to summon where a large group of people
are gathering and have the monster follow you around.
There are other necromancer monsters that live in Temuriar.
The Green Skeleton is the most common. This monster looks like
most necromancer skeletons but is green. This monster is friendly
and will not attack you unless you attack it. It is very weak
also, but has excellent Magic Resistance (most necromancy monsters
do). They can be seen appearing Loures, Rucesion, and rarely
Mileth for unknown reasons. Also the Dark Champion and his Disciples
have been given the spell Spion Skel (Summon Skeleton). This
spell will summon a green skeleton. Tagor also has skeleton's
living nearby. They look like the green skeleton but are called
Tagor Skeletons. They can be found in the lost Souls pass. Be
warned they are aggressive and attack in numbers. They are not
that powerful but can cause trouble for you if you are surrounded.
Becoming a Tagor citizen involves killing 5 of these skeletons.
Also all of these skeletons have never been seen casting any
kind of magic so do not worry.
However the other Necromancer creatures are not that weak. The
3 other Necromancer monsters are found in the Chaos realm.
Craidhneach- This Necromancer Skeleton is first found on Chaos
3. It looks much like the Skeletons seen in Necromancer summons.
Clogad Craidhneach- This is the armored version of the Craidhneach.
It is first found on Chaos 4. Also for those seeking to make
Light Belts this monster drops Talos Ore (that’s just a
rumor now).
Sgraidht- Does the Sgraidht look just like Gigean? Most likely
he is one of this race. These monsters are not to be taken lightly.
Nothing has even been known to be able to kill this. The Sgraidht
can move while Suained, ao dall itself, and cast the water dragon
spell. The spell does moderate damage to everyone in the area.
Also if someone is skulled when it is cast that person will die
instantly. He is first found on Chaos 7.
Aog Ridir- This greatly resembles the Death Knights. It is currently
known as the deepest and most powerful monster in the chaos realm.
The Aog Ridir is found only on Chaos 12.
5. The Future…
In Doech 21, Spring Tagor opened to the rest of the world. The
Druids babbled about coming Darkness because of this. Several
seasons later Gigean began to talk about a new spell for Necromancers
called "Pian". He said because the birthplace of necromancy
had been open again the hatred and evil was once again growing.
Gigean said that the this new spell Pian would be able to cause
direct harm to someone. It will be weak at first but will grow
in strength as the darkness grows. Currently he still has yet
to teach it.
Also the Light vs Night battles have begun. The Night Champion
and his disciples have gotten the spell Spion Skel as said before.
The Light people have gotten a spell to banish them (that is
like a waste as any light person could kill it in one hit). Also
in Tagor the undead hordes are once again on the rise. They have
yet to enter the village but can be found in the Lost
Souls pass outside the village. Also the local Alchemist won't
talk to anyone. He says "I don't have time for someone as
in-experienced as you, I have to find a way to stop this evil!".
