First Empire
Deochs 20 - 23

Once the many early problems of Imperium were settled the guild began to move forward in new directions. Gradually as Imperium members became more and more active in Mileth politics they meet resistance, though many aislings during this time period regarded Imperium and its leaders as little more then a joke.

At the heart of Mileth’s opposition to Imperium was the long time judge Bridseye, who many regarded as incompetent and corrupt. Eventually Bridseye was put on trial for his actions against Mileth guard captain Angelgal. In a very rare moment in Mileth history Omner, a demagogue, was chosen to preside over the trial. Even though Bridseye was found guilty Omner showed his true colors by saying the sentence (political barment) by the jury was to harsh and effectively Bridseye got off with a slap on the wrist.

As a result of these problems Imperium began to favor a bold vision of the future in which it would preside over new system based on progressive and reformist ideas. Ramanayan promised to trade honesty for corruption, frality for strength, and chaos for order. The First Empire had begun as the guild was reformed along imperialistic lines.

While Imperium concentrated on reforming Mileth a long running internal conflict between Prime Minister Heiler Arwan and Topkyle finally ended with Heiler leaving the guild and Topkyle assuming his place as Prime Minister.
