Grey Council
Following the end of the Raiders of Undine I & II
things in Undine went back much to the status quo. With the
rebel base being destroyed and many of its members killed
the Undine Rebels went back underground. Loures meanwhile
was still embroiled in the Goblin War and could not afford
to send many replacements for those killed when the garrison
was destroyed.
It would not be until Deoch 62 until the Loures-Undine situation
flared up again when the entire Loures High Council, save
its leader Jean, was assassinated in a horrific manner.
In what become
known as the Grey Council event aisling investigators set
out to unravel the mystery that ended in the death of the
Loures High Council. What began as an investigation soon
turned
into a recruiting drive by Loures, the Undine Rebels, Necromancer
Order, and the Pact of Anaman - all with competing interests
at stake.
It was ultimatly uncovered during the event that
Undine Rebels were indeed behind the assassination. Their
leader,
who
is
still at large, was a former Loures solider involved
in the suppression of the rebellion during the original
Raiders of Undine event in Deoch 39. After complaining
to his superiors about the brutal treatment of the Undine
population
he
was sent to labor in the Piet Sewers. It was there he
uncovered the secrets of the plague that has once affected
the Loures children. Decades later he would turn into
a deadly weapon (in the form of a gas) that would seal
the fates of the Loures High Council.
However, Loures knew very little of the actual identity
of the rebels who pulled off the assassination. Due to
the confusion and power vacuum that was a result of the
assassination it would take many deochs for more details
to come to light...
