Early Novus Imperia
Deochs 25 - 26
Shortly after Novus Imperia was founded the dual-government was
disbanded and the guild returned back to it's original government
with a Prime Minister.
It was in these early days that Novus Imperia became known as
"that crazy guild that wants to take over Mileth".
Leaders Ramanayan, Morfeen, and Cyphir and others entered full
time into Mileth politics - mostly in the demagoguery branch.
Within
just
a matter of moons the trio wrecked havoc with Mileth's political
establishment by proposing radical new laws, attacking rivals,
and overall strong arming their way up the political ladder.
Perhaps an early sign of the coming struggles was when elder
Mileth Burgess Graynemeade passed the controversial"Aisling
Act". With the support of Judge Axamander, Burgess Morfeen
had the law deemed void (despite the fact it was a charter amendment).
When
Graynemeade and her allies politically attacked Ramanayan they
found themselves in a battle before any rules political warfare
had been established. And thus it ended with a complete victory
for Novus Imperia - removing Graynameade and another demagogue
from office while at the same time attracting the ire of the
growing Anaman Pact guild.
In Deoch 24 Ramanayan had become the Fair Coordinator for Mileth
Fair V. After the political turmoil of early deoch 25 the fair
was finally ready to open. But before it could - Ramanayan achieved
the status of Lord of the Arts (the second ever in Temuair) and
would henceforth be known as "Lord Gnaeus Ramanayan Caesar".
When the Mileth Fair did open in Deoch 26 it was a great success
and Novus Imperia gained much popularity from it. However, the
seeds of discontent had been growing between then Prime Minister
Cyphir and Foreign Minister Morfeen over a variety of issues.
Ultimately Morfeen wanted more power but was criticized widely
by the member base for abusing his existing powers.
Finally, in Deoch 26 Morfeen Arwan was exiled from the guild
after illegally exiling Cyphir. As all three
men were involved in Mileth politics what began as a guild conflict
soon spilled over into the political area and then even into
the religious areas. This was generally regarded as the worse
internal conflict Novus Imperia had up until the "Times
of Troubles" some
two decades later.
